If you have access to the fishing pole (they show up on the link from Bill 
(below)), it should work better, especially, when you have the mast down. 
However, 33” might be a tad too short.

I agree with using a fish tape. 

As an alternative, sometimes 1/4" poly tubing (the stuff you use to plumb the 
water maker on a fridge) works to fish wires and ropes.
