So sorry to hear that!
I've never attempted ​to pull a head.  Last month I helped my mechanic
change transmissions.  There was one bolt under a radiator hose.  I tried
to remove it, but could not get it to budge.  He took out a 'radiator hose
pick' and in 20 seconds the hose was off.  Know what you are getting into
before you decide to tackle it yourself, and factor in your time and the
time you will loose sailing in order to save a couple boat bucks.
