I did a head gasket on a '96 Saturn SL1 with almost no prior knowledge.
Kinda just wrenched it apart.  You'll learn a ton but it will probably take
3 to 4 times the time it would have taken a mechanic.

It will probably only take a couple hundred dollars in parts so what's more
valuable, your time or your money?
