Fair enough.  I do buy refurbished gear sometimes as well.  I was more thinking I'm not going to try and piece together a new transducer to the old display.

Raymarine doesn't have any of what I need right now in the referb section (only a depth display with no transducer)

I would disagree on one point.  I frequently buy refurbished electronics for boat and home and have not had a problem yet.  My logic is that at least the refurbished item has been specifically tested and shown to work up to spec.  That is more than the standard stuff off the assembly line gets.  Dave
