I replaced my panels with FRP (fiberglass reinforced plastic) from Home Depot. Easy to cut with a saber saw using blades with fine teeth. I used 1" Velcro to hold the panels in place. Liquid Nails adhesive works well, even over adhesive, from the old Velcro, that I couldn't get off.
The water intrusion might be from hardware mounted on the cabin top.
