Don't think I'm not taking this thing seriously! I think the Admiral and I have used gallons of hand sanitizer and yards of disinfectant wipes. I carry hand sanitizer, disinfectant wipes and diposable gloves in my truck and I use them.
Everything that comes into our house, packages, mail, groceries, etc. gets quarantined and sanitized. If something has inner packaging, we sanitize the outer packaging or handle it with gloves, remove the inner packaging then toss the outer packaging. We wash all produce with soap and water as soon as it gets in the house. We have lots of meals made and frozen in our outside freezer. When I drive to Pensacola, I'm a couple gallons short of making the round trip. This time I carried 5 extra gallons in the truck so I wouldn't have to stop for fuel. If I have to refuel, I use disposable gloves and toss them at the fuel stop. I stopped at the Alabama welcome station because it is new and ADA compliant. I knew it has button activated doors where I could bump it with my hip and open the doors. As it turned out, some genius at the facility had propped the doors open so I could walk in without touching anything even though I had a disinfectant wipe with me. The Mississippi rest stops are old and don't have automatic doors. I can lock/unlock my truck from the boat so I don't expose my keys. They stay on the boat. I open the security gate to my pier with a disinfectant wipe and sanitize my hands at the truck and at the boat each pass through the gate. These are examples of how we all need to think in this "new normal" environment. There is a lot of good information out there on keeping yourself safe and minimizing your exposure. I'm not sailing the boat, just doing some work and trying to shake a serious case of cabin fever. Dennis C.
