Lots of good tips here, especially Rich's method of pre-installing machine
screws into the conduit. Just one thing I haven't seen mentioned is
regarding pull strings. No need to worry about putting them in place first,
as long as you have easy access to one end. Put the vac over the end of the
conduit, then tie a small piece of plastic bag to the end of your string
and suck it through. We used to use this method successfully for pulling
strings through up to 100m of conduit, where a fish tape won't help you.
And if you the conduit gets flooded with debris, a septic pumper truck will
provide ample suction to get it clear... (only had to try that trick once,
but it was better than digging it up!).

Now I have a few options for when I finally get around to doing this. On a
related note, my discovery of a nice hidden 4" channel between the water
tanks and stbd settee inner liner face seems like a perfect place for
conduit, and maybe even a forward heat duct for the Espar. It pays to poke
around with a mirror while cleaning the bilge... :)
