Admittedly my feathering prop came with the boat...but I love its reverse 
thrust and the added 1/2 to 1 knot speed increase.

Resolute had rudder "hum: when we first brought her home.  It started when we 
were sailing above 7knots.  I could hear it and also feel it through the 
tiller.  There was a little bit of play in the rudder shaft and it all went 
away after I installed grease fittings and greased the rudder shaft and 
converted to wheel.  No play, no hum and higher boat speeds.
