Good Morning All,

The Golden-crowned Sparrow first appeared a little after 8 this morning below the platform feeder. He spent the next 10-15 minutes alternating between feeding under the platform feeder and retreating in to the shrubs.

Other highlights of the morning at the feeders included:
2 pair of striking Cassin's Finches landing in the top of the lower apple tree around 7:45 A.M.
one White-winged junco feeding next to the Golden-crowned Sparrow
good looks at the PS x WW Junco
observing the very handsome dark chocolate Song Sparrow - the heavy streaking and buffy malar markings are much more pronounced than the other Song Sparrows present at the feeders listening to the call of a Townsend's Solitaire while observing the Golden-crowned Sparrow
Prairie Falcon sitting on top of large rock - visible to the SE

Rob Raker reported seeing the pair of Prairie Falcons flying back and forth between Cave Rock and Frog Rock on his way out of the park - a little bonding and pre-courtship activity perhaps.....
