Thanks @hutiefang76 for checking. I'd like to keep this one, as I already have the Dameng DM8 setup from the original measurements. I'll open a focused PR this week following Daniel's comment above: explicit metadata selection, no unconditional `DATA_LENGTH / 2`, NVARCHAR/NVARCHAR2 catalog tests including the `CHAR_LENGTH = 0` case, both `LENGTH_IN_CHAR` modes, and CHAR/VARCHAR/NCHAR unchanged.
