Yes that's a possibility. As you say this I not a recommended practice as it
doesn't improve the overall ecosystem. I'll do this as a last resort if we
don’t find a better way to solve it.

BTW Cargo is first and foremost a framework (a Java API). It has some
extensions like the m2 plugin, etc that transforms it into an "application"
but it's meant to be a framework above all.
