BTW As soon as you get my last message, my MAC Classic has crashed about a
total of 4-8 times!

MacWEB v. 1.0.0 crashed 1 time! It has NEVER crashed since I installed it
about a few weeks ago!

I was reading a Compact Macs digest, and the Classic LOCKED UP!!!! It has
NEVER locked up! Only my PeeCee has!

And about 4 other "BOMBS!"

I don't care if the Mac Apologizes! That annoying picture of a "bomb-lit"
is torture enough! Every time my PC crashes, it just exits the program!
Every time my Mac Classic crashes--I have to REBOOT! I hate rebooting this
machine the speed of an 8088-running Windows 3.0 in real mode! Do any of
you realize how LONG it takes your compact Macs to boot after loading about
21.6MB of data on a 40MB Hard Drive??? (not to mention System 7.0!) Since I
installed WinXP on both my PC's, I have had not a lick of an error from
them! Face it! the Macintosh Classic is probably the WORST of the Road
Apples from Apple Computer, Inc.! They made a big mistake including ancient
Hardware inside of it in 1990! I still don't get it! No wonder it crashes!
the hardware is soooo old! A 40MB HD in 1990??? The PC was ahead of that! A
68000 Processor??? As ancient in 1990 as an 8088 IBM PC-Which happened to
be made in the 80's! Add the HD and memory expansion (which BTW was about
the only way to get any use and compatibility out of it!), and it wasn't a
very low-priced mac by the way...

My goodness! if I don't get satisfactory performance and reliability from
this machine, I think I am going to toss it after all!

Whew...I am calm now, I probably won't toss my mac, it is just to
sentimental, or maybe I am just an old die-hard fan of Apple Computers (I
LOVED THE ][e and ][gs! I learned on them-they were the first computer I
used after the Texas Instruments TI-99/4A! (Sorry, that computer needs the
recognition, no one has heard of it nowadays, but I guess it is still a
little bit OT...))...But this mac is driving me to the point that I am
yanking my hair out...Don't get me wrong, You all have SE's and SE/30s! You
are soo lucky you have an Apple Computer dealer where you live--you have
great macs! The 68030 was probably a great fast (16MHz not 8MHz) processor!
If only "The Core" hadn't disappeared...I miss it so much--They had a great
price for a PowerMAC G3 w/ CDROM!

In closing, I am pretty sure there were worse Apple Computers, but they
sure are getting better! A lot better than they were in 1990, that's for
sure!

Nick

PS: Gamba, your site "http://home.earthlink.net/~Gamba2"; is giving my
Classic's WWW Browser an Error 500-Can't access document!" I tried
"http://home.earthlink.net"- the link is dead-an Error 404 "File not
found!" Please update your links! And any ways to improve performance and
reliability in my classic is greatly appreciated!
