there should be a way to change the resolution, if you can locate and write to the display chip. it shouldn't be necessary though, assuming the frame rate is the same and you have the same vertical resolution all the timing is the same, the difference in horizontal resolution just means a difference in the dot frequency and a slight increase in how much of the horizontal portion of the cycle is displayed. a little tweaking of the analog board should be all that's needed in any case.
