More to the point, I forget what has been said over the course of a
thread as do others, which is why a more current system that has the
active posting tools as well as the history is helpful. What makes
these lists so useful is, hopefully, people who have a lot of
experience will take a second or two to enlighten the rest of us
through quick answers to easy questions. But with these long threads
which can become cumbersome to follow, without looking in two or three
places to see what has come before, taking a moment to reply becomes a
time consuming ordeal that means sometimes, I just let it go. Half the
time, someone else will respond. Also, I don't have time to sort
through the Macfaq every time I think it will be useful, so I figure a
newby who isn't aware of it, will enjoy sorting through it themselves!
Dan will be the first to acknowledge the site needs updating, so what
can you do? But I will continue to do whatever I can to ensure it
doesn't go away -- it's way too helpful, BTW, I do remember those heady
days, I simply float in and out as I have the time -- I believe the
last time I left the list had to do with an e-mail address problem that
got too difficult to mess with, so I just took a break!
