SMD caps aren't that bad, the biggest problem is that you have two
solder joints that must be simultaneously removed.  A desoldering tool
will allow you to suck the solder off one joint at a time, or you can
use two soldering irons at once, but that can be an interesting juggling
challenge.  Do *NOT* attempt to bend the cap off one joint at a time
because you may damage the board doing this.

More prone, especially ones manufactured in that time period.
Late 80's-early 90's camcorders are plagued with these things too.
Worse, low quality parts are still the industry average in this area, so
buy Nichicon 105 degree caps as a replacements unless you want to be
doing this again.
