Here I am messing with another computer for someone. I installed a new HD and it is drive E: not C: Windows will not allow me to chage the letter designation. How in heavens name did it get named e:?
The typical mathematical approach (i.e., my immediate response, but not necessarily practical) is to rename the C: drive to F:, then make the E: drive C:, then make the F: drive E: or leave it as F:. Others have pointed out that either the CD or Zip Drive is C: and the other D:. That could have easily happened sometime after taking out the old hard drive that was C:. I have seen it over and over with Windows. -- John DeCarlo, My Views Are My Own ************************************************************************ * ==> QUICK LIST-COMMAND REFERENCE - Put the following commands in <== * ==> the body of an email & send 'em to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] <== * Join the list: SUBSCRIBE COMPUTERGUYS-L Your Name * Too much mail?
