I'm also having problems installing from Linux partition using hd.img.
It hangs completely at stage2.img - no error messages. I haven't been
able to do a HD install since last September. Is this because of
insufficient RAM?

440FX M/B with 24 meg ram.

I've managed to update to current cooker using kpackage, but would
like to do a fresh install.
