Lots of work....especially one that has the alclad coating rubbed off. 

I suspect that the reason the factory began to paint Coupes was not only 
marketing, but that that they had ordered lots of aluminum sheets, that
began 
to surface corrode in the Maryland atmosphere. ERCO had ordered sufficient

parts to make 10,000 airplanes in 1946.....

So, no choice but to paint them...To do so, required scruffing up the
alclad 
surface so the primer and paint would adhere.....

Now, if you remove the paint and primner
, you no longer have the slicj aklclad finish, but scuffed aluminum alloy.

This takes a lot of work to re polish out the sanding marks and  keep 
polished...

I wish my coupe had never been painted, but I'm too lazy to think about 
weekly/monthly plolishing...
