This is a reply to an unknown person. I try not to be an A hole. But
sometimes it just comes out.
" OK, I have stayed out of this cable thing. But now I have to
Me
ask. Where do you get 350# of tension."
Sorry about bringing this cable thing up again but this is the first time
I
Him
have had a chance to answer this, I will try to use small words so it is
easy to understand. The 350 Lb is the amount of total force pulling the
two
ends of the pitch control system towards each other if the cables are set
at
175 Lb. It comes from the same principles of physics that allows us to
use
a pully system to lift 350 Lb with only 175 Lb of force (also known as a
two
pully block and tackle). I tried to draw it but I don't have the fancy
programs on my computer to make it work.
"Somebody please get an AN Engineering book out. Warren H"
Yes that who I am
Warren it appears to me that someone needs to take a college algabra
class!
Him
Even my 17 year old son was able to figure it out.
This was a big mistake on your part. I have 38 credits and
carry
a 3.5 . Yes I am a Plumber and proud of it. God dang, How did that Masters
Plumbers License get on the wall?
Your 17 year old need to go to a vocational school as do you.
Because this dumb ass plumber is going to shot your holes in your E-mail.
1) First going up the list is you block and tackle idea is good. But you
forgot that to lift 350 lbs with only 175 lbs you need a ratio of 2 to 1.
A
1 to 1 you would need 350lbs to lift 350 lbs. With a 3 to 1 you only need
87.5 lbs to lift it. Ask JR to do that math.
2) I'll also uses smaller words. "CUT" one of the two cables. What is the
tension in the remaining cable? From the rest of this mail I am guessing
your saying 175 lbs. WRONG = O Case closed. You just opened a closed
system. And you know what is all just went away. You know why because in a
closed loop system all " the components ARE AS ONE NOT TWO." Have JR
multiple 175# x1. I am sure you'll need the help.
3) It's times like this I am happy Dad was Dad. He show me how to use my
hands an head.
4) Case closed you lose. I win! Warren
