Thanks for the heads up on the Simple Green, John. I use it exclusively
on painted surfaces. Does anyone know if THAT can do damage? If so, I'd
like to know... I have used it for a year and have seen no ill effects to
date. Thanks! John Barsness

You're going to get a slew of responses, so I might as well chime in
"first." Simple Green has an ammonia base, so it ATTACKS aluminum. You
shouldn't use it unless you want to dissolve your airplane. Incidentally,
WD-40 is a slower but adequate dissolver of oil smear.

"Simple Green" works terrific to remove oil & grease. I get under the old
'coupe on the mechanic's creeper and spray it on the belly undiluted, then
just wipe it off with a paper towel. Good Stuff. Happy 4th
everyone- I am stuck at work. Someone's gotta man the ship, I guess.
