Here's the deal.  The only special tool is the reamer.  What happens is
that 
the combustion end of the valve guide erodes and/or wears to the point
where 
there is enough clearance to allow deposits to build.  As you fly,
deposits 
collect on the valve stem and are pulled into the guide.  the constant 
opening and closing of the valve keeps them under control, but when you
shut 
the engine down, the guides contract as they cool, and the valve stems jam
in 
the guides.  Reaming the guides and cleaning the stems will help, but does

not eliminate the cause.  Many folks swear by Marvel Mystery Oil in the
fuel 
to "permanently" cure the problem.  The real cure is to have new valve
guides 
installed.  This is a very common problem with these engines, especially
if 
you use 100LL alot, run too rich or burn a lot of oil.  TCP is approved
and 
helps keep the lead deposits from building on the valve stems.
