Marilyn, etc. I had a good time at the Arkansas Picnic this past weekend. It was nice, as always, to renew some previously made friendships and to meet some new people. I was quite surprized that there were so many people from other states, which was a real nice touch. We enjoyed seeing some new and different coupes this year. I was especially pleased to see an A2A Alon with a factory installed back seat (all the way from Texas), and that super Forney from Mississippi. I also think some of us should fly to Florida sometime to support the Florida coupe that came all the way up. I wish I had taken the time to get to know the pilot better and to discuss his experience. Next time for sure.
Thanks also to John Wright and his family for driving down and putting on the corrosion seminar. It was a real eye-opener for me. Incidently, John has an open house (so to speak) each month in Mattoon, Il that every one should take the time to go to. I think the next one is Oct 3 at 1:00 pm. It is a perfect time to spread your wings and make a 3 hr cross country. Thank you Marilyn for all of the hard work by you and your friends in Ark. The Arkansas Picnic should be a must attend event each year by coupers and other pilots as a means of keeping general aviation alive and getting to know other pilots. It is very centrally located from many states and the facilities and grounds are more than adequate for a couple hundred planes. For those that didn't make it this year, keep the picnic in mind for next year. Ken Doyle Springfield, Mo Alon N5477E
