Steve: The tower reported wind on the ground is no indication of the wind
"upstairs", as we know. Are you suggesting that you like your attitude to
be "wing low" throughout your entire approach, or just at round out to
flair, and how do you determine when you actually encounter the X-wind
condition? What one sees on a mid-field "soc" is not necessarily what one
encounters at the threshold. In my opinion, ( and you know I'm not the
least bit opinionated) I have to continuously "adjust" my approach
concerning just about every aspect of it. What the tower says is just a
guide to "possible" conditions, and keeps me on my toes. We most times
have to "crab" our course, why not the approach as well, if needed?
