I hope this will help. I had a cross wind landing and was kind of surprised, when on landing the lagging wing lifted. I figured it out after checking my shorts. The coupe will straighten its self out on landing in a crab. In doing this the lagging wing has to catch up and in doing so it generated lift on that side.
Now I know it can happen so I am not surprised. Just don't do anything to drastic, she will loose the lift and settle back down. I should note this happened with a very low tail. and has not happened since getting the coupe in the right stance. I have asked a very knowable coupe guy and AI.. about what happened. He tells me that if your coupe is rigged properly, if you fire wall it and get your speed to 110 and do not pull back on the stick, that you should hit the "fence" at the far end of the runway. This is due to the cuff in the leading edge, and rigging of the coupe. ----- Original Message ----- From: Greg Bullough <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Monday, August 30, 1999 5:57 AM Subject: Re: Safety > At 09:19 PM 8/29/99 -0500, Mi Vida Loca wrote: > >It will however raise a wing briefly (if the tail is not level) if when > you touch down you are >carrying a little too much speed. > > I wonder how the presence/absence of the split elevator plays into this > analysis? > > As I understand it, without the split, you have to carry a little more > airspeed, to have > the authority to flare (particularly in a D model, where the up travel is > more limited). > > Could this be exactly the 'little too much speed' that Dave asserts is a > critical factor? > > Greg
