Hi! My son and I have been restoring an old Ercoupe over the past two years. It hasn't flown since 1975 and had been stored at an airport and behind a guy's garage. Needless to say, it was a basket case. Many of the parts were missing or stolen during the storeage. We have completed restoring the wings, they are primed, signoff and ready for covering. Before covering we
are in need of the wing lites and a tail lite. All we have is the body of a Grimes wing lite. We are looking for a Grimes lite set or a replacement set of lights. We refuse to pay $87 a piece for set in Aircraft Spruce or Enivair. There is something wrong with paying that much money for 1935 technology. Aircraft Spruce sells a Whelen wing lite that is more reasonably priced but it appears that the neck of the unit is too large to fit a Ercoupe wing tip. If anyone knows of a replacement lite or is willing to part with a Grimes lite set at a reasonable price please let me know.
