I certainly can't answer your question, not having that experience "at
altitude".  But as I said, we( before the prop thing), had a weak
cylinder,
#4 which was pumping some oil, so we probably were developing 65 or so Hp
at
Max curve.  I weigh  180, my partner around 200, and we,out of tall grass,
and dense air did well.  Certainly, we could have used more hp, with a top
ROC of 400'/Min., but it was acceptable.  These conditions may compare to
yours (performance wise), but I'm sure more knowledgeable coupers on this
forum can answer your question more precisely.
