I find both EAA and AOPA to be equally valuable. I like EAA's lobbying and concentration more on classic aircraft. But, I don't get much out of EAA's magazine. I couldn't build a doghouse, much less an airplane. AOPA lobbies well too, and their magazine is far more informative to me. Plus, the legal services plan of AOPA is important to me, as well as their medical counseling, chart service, and the great airport directory that they publish. So, I think the two groups do different things, and can't accurately be compared with each other. Also, most of the cutting edge homebuilts aren't cheap. Priced a Lancair IVP lately? So, I don't think you can say that EAA serves the modest budget flyer, while AOPA serves the big iron. Jerry Eichenberger Columbus, Ohio N2906H
