In every case where a safety feature that will help 99 out of
100 people, someone stands up with some anecdotal evidence to
the contrary. Always as if that is some sort of proof that
said safety devices are in fact major hazards.

It was so with seat belts in cars, with some wag always telling
how they were lucky to be 'thrown clear' before the car burst 
into flames, etc., etc.

Anecdotal evidence notwithstanding, you are far more likely to
smash your brain-pan open on the top of the dash or end up with
the starter handle in your skull than you are to successfully
'duck' during a hypothetical roll-over.

Go for the harnesses.
