Oops, that was meant for the macports list which is what I used to 
install it.  This is what I meant to post here:

I just installed courier-imap on mac os x.  It is only running via ssl
and not on port 143.  Where is that configured?

Also all I want it to do is access a single Maildir directory and let me
access it via IMAP.  The documentation seems surprisingly sparse, am I
missing somethign obvious here?  I can't even find where it tells me
where to set up a new account.
