Current ports' version is 0.54.0, did you use that?
What parts of config did you change? Could you eventually diff sample 
configuration files with yours?

You did not mention your authentication method...

If you use ./Maildir as delivery method, maildrop is not used at all. For the 
beginning, we should stick with that, I think.

I think your log example is not complete first log item should be something 
else with the same id. What about mailq output? Some hints could be shown 
there as well.
