How can you tell the difference between a real IP and a home network?
I'm starting to write some S2P2P(server to peer to peer) software, and I need
to be able to differentiate between a real IP and a home network IP. From what
I am told, you can't really be a server to the internet if you're behind a
router on a home network IP. At least I can't run Apache and have people
access my web address when I am on a home network IP.
Any help is appreciated. I'm sure the answer is easy. I just don't know it.
Thanks,
Jim
PS: I have a new computer I can code on while I fix my 3d gaming machine.
