Just rent one from the airport in LA or SF. Rental car companies also rent
them, very cheap to use. Buying one is a bit expensive and you'll most
likely need a US address, even on pre-paid.

Subject: [csforum] Cellphones in the US

Hello folks,
I've just learned from Telecom that their "US roaming" service only
works with certain models of CDMA phones, i.e. not my flash new
Hyundai :-( -- and no longer works with the older "025" phones,
i.e. not the one I have on the shelf, and which I used just fine last
time I went over there.

Does anyone know if the US now has "hire at the airport" cellphones,
or inexpensive prepays I could buy for use during my sojourn there
next month?

How do the world travellers among you currently manage US
communications when you go there?

Thanks in advance!

cheers,
peter
