I just checked the prefs per your instructions in both Mac and Win Opera. they

Does this now point to something in my code that needs addressing to let Opera
show things right?

in Mac Opera, the page looks exactly right..or exactly as I designed, or as
Safari shows it, and Firefox 6, too.

Win IE6 Win FF both get the page right..virtually identical to what I see on
the mac browsers.

to me this points to something Windows Opera-specific.

Is this a reasonable conclusion?

Thank you!

I am not able to install Opera/11.52 on OS X 10.4 Do other sites, mine for example [signature link], exhibit the same sort of issues as yours in Win Opera/11.52 compared with Win Safari and Win Firefox on the same machine? If not, go to Opera>Preferences>Advanced>History>Memory Cache>Automatic>Disk Cache>Empty Now>Restart machine>Open Opera>view your pages. If this does not help, perhaps someone else can help. Either way, take hacking Opera out of your mind -- that is not the way to go.
