Both my grandmother and grandfather died of cancer back in the nineteen
sixties... After the hospitalization, the doctors and  the cobalt
treatments.there
was nothing left of my grandparents's savings.  Fortunately, they died
before they were penniless.

I think we need a national health program...and the fact that wealthy
Canadians come to the US to seek out specialists isn't a compelling
argument when you consider that one out of three kids in the US lives in
poverty...and health care for millions of children is an ongoing problem.

My son has type one diabetes.  Do you know how many insurance companies
are interested in covering him?  NONE.

I don't believe that good health is a "right"....but I do believe that a
nation as sophisticated and enlightened as ours can do a better job in
providing affordable care for ordinary citizens.
