-Caveat Lector-

In other words, you want your neighbors [taxpayers] to pay your medical bills. If
health care become free to the applicant, he will have unlimited demands for it.
This will bankrupt ANY system of care. The problem is that socializing medical care
always greatly increases the cost of care. I say return to the fair market system. I
used to spend a day and a half every week, back in the sixties and seventies, giving
my services at the county hospital without pay. The costs were modest, and the
quality was good. But it was not an open ended system in which the amount of care
was decided upon by hypochondriacal patients, government bureaucrats, or insurance
companies. It was given to patients according to the need, decided by conscientious
physicians, and it was successful in providing good care to those who could not
afford private care. This is called a two tier system, in which there is no
incentive for third parties to exploit the system by limiting quality of care in
order to make money, nor for patients to overuse the system, as is the case today.
