That presupposes that they HAD clones. I really believe this was one bit of
super-science the soviets managed to keep all to themselves and known only to a small
number of people for many years. The current applications of the technology may be
theirs being applied commercially, or it may have been sucesfully discovered
independantly by Western researchers. Consider also the far greater leeway Soviet
scientists had in regards to human subjects and mortality rates, compared to the US
and other Western countries which, while these abuses happen infrequently, they try to
keep it quiet and hence can't use as much money, personnel etc.
