The problem I mentioned in my 2007-01-04 posting, item #2, i.e, the
disappearing of the é (U+00E9 LATIN SMALL LETTER E WITH ACUTE)
characters from the title of the firefox window showing
http://jv.gilead.org.il /sjv.html is solved (in my en_US.UTF-8 locale).
The problem in item #3, i.e., the extra space after the ´ (U+2019 RIGHT
SINGLE QUOTATION MARK) in http://jv.gilead.org.il/ still persists.

text properties go through XmbTextPropertyToTextList() even when the
type is STRING, instead of just copying the bytes. It simply converts

and try it out. I'm especially interested in how it works with
non-UTF-8 locales.
