[CBML] New to CB and can't get started...

Hello, I'm brand new to CB and trying to start a game of Twilight 
Struggle with an experienced CB player. When I try to open (from 
within the CB Player) the game file he sent me (or the GenericGame), I 
get the message "The parameter is incorrect." I'm running CB 3.02 on 
Windows XP. I get the same thing for scenario file, gamebox file, or 
game file. Any help appreciated.
