Halt - for personal protection from dog attack, irritating spray. Active ingredient: Capsaicin and related capsaicinoids (derived from Oleoresin of Capsicum) basically pepper spray... the dog didn't yelp or anything though. In fact, when I pointed the can it's direction, it switched sides to my left but still chased, I sprayed and it stopped. Hopefully, I won't have to spray every time. Don's said it generally takes a couple sprays and then they stay back. Steve
