I am open to trying this out if this is something enough developers
support (developers who want a faster turaround can just say so).  From
a strictly technical standpoint, I may be too confused to do this until
we have some sort of patch tracker.  Let's revisit this question later
when I have settled into unstable maintainence a bit :-)
