Perhaps some of the darktable developers could also become more familiar with innovations being developed in other photo editing software. Style previews have been pretty common in other tools for a few years now... Probably because their users like them...

What would be great in darktable is the ability to see the application of a style to a photo in the filmstrip as a thumbnail preview prior to applying it.
