All this SQL magic makes sense only if the database actually stores those fields. Are you sure they're there? Wouldn't it be better to ask for new fields to be added, and then handled through the UI filter builder? What feature are you missing from the query builder itself? Because if none, then there's no need for direct SQL filtering.
