I don't think direct SQL search would be a good idea, it could even be dangerous (a malicious user may send a seemingly helpful SQL snippet that wipes the user's database). https://xkcd.com/327/
Also, I don't think it's needed/worthwhile: - The query builder (collect images module) in darktable is rather flexible. - The feature would take time.
