Allowing absolute white balance temperatures make it easy to 'correct'
the white balance for images where you know the color of the
lightsource that illuminates an object directly. I.e. IKEA has nice
CFL's with 2700K (warm white). So are many other lightsources. It
saves time to allow entering absolute white balance settings.
Technically allowing input and output white balance allows one to
change the white balance in a desired white balance for effect.

Could you not make both the white balance sliders go from 2000-9900K
and then have a toggle, that couples input and output white balance
such that coupled means absolute white balance?
