It's been a long, long time since I used Vuescan so it might have changed and I 
may be talking $%£$! but this doesn't quite make sense to me.

AFAIK vuescan DNG files aren't raw files as we understand them (i.e. bayer 
pattern sensor dumps) but rather vuescan's linear output tiff files with a DNG 
wrapper around them.  Isn't there also some option for having either a 'normal' 
tiff file or a 'raw' file output, which again isn't a raw file as we would 
understand it but rather just scanned without any user or gamma corrections 
applied, and both of these can be wrapped up as DNG I believe?

Unless there is specific support for these vuescan format files available I 
suspect using a simple tiff without DNG wrapper as output format from vuescan 
might be more portable.  To clarify which of the 4 formats (tiff, tiff dng, raw 
tiff, raw tiff dng) actually load up satisfactorily into dt?
