But in my case I have to manually choose the lens --- so this will not 
apply, correct?

I have not seen the 1.5 implementation, but my suggestion is that the 
(subset) of parameters in a module that could be auto-applied (in the 
case of the exposure, is just one; in the case of the lens correction, 
there are two or even three sets - lens type, geometry, TCA) should have 
an "auto" tick; when ticked, the parameters are grayed out and 
automatically recalculated on paste. It's IMHO clean and intuitive.
