"Simple"?

Maybe you can enlighten us how to achieve that Simple Matter, in the context 
of "country:" attributes which have a well defined syntax.

This is not about "any arbitrary web interface which displays a list of 
fully spelt-out country names" (where internal representation would, 
indeed, not matter).
