You need glib/gmime for 2.1.0 no matter what. Ldap is optional.
why did configure not break when it didnt found it?
I guess there's a bug in configure then :-)
I've fixed autoconf to make sure configure fails. I haven't tested yet, but it
was pretty trivial.
