VIETNAM:

Death sentences for drug traffickers upheld


The Ha Noi People's Court on Thursday upheld the death sentences for Song
A De and Duong Van Hung for drug trafficking. Both of them were also fined
100 million VND.

' It also upheld the life imprisonment sentences for 2 other members of
the ring - Le Dinh Sang and Nguyen Thi Hang - who also have to pay fines
worth 130 million VND each. In addition, the court handed down jail
sentences of 10 and 7 years and 6 months to 2 others.

The defendants were brought to trial in Ha Noi on Tuesday.
