IRAN:

Executions: 9 execution verdicts in 9 days----80 hangings and death
verdicts in 4 months


The mullahs' anti-human regime continues the barbaric wave of executions
in Iran. State-run media reported that 9 death sentences were handed down
in the past 9 days, including 3 yesterday.

These bring to 80 the number of hangings and death sentences in the 4th
months since Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's election, representing a 100 % increase
compared to the 1st 6 months of the year.

2 women, Soghra and Raheleh, were among those sentenced to death, one by
stoning. Etemaad daily reported on October 23 that 3 men were sentenced to
death.

The Iranian Resistance once again calls on international human rights
organizations to condemn the continuing wave of inhumane executions in
Iran and demands the adoption of a strongly-worded resolution at the
current session of the United Nations General Assembly to censure the
systematic and flagrant violations of human rights in Iran.
